“I halted my myopia”

I went to my Optometrist because I was having a hard time seeing things far away. After some tests, the Optometrist said I have something called myopia. That’s why things far away look blurry to me! They gave me glasses to wear with special lenses to help stop my eyes getting worse. At first, it was weird having something on my face all the time, but it made everything far away so much clearer. I wore them to school, when watching TV, and even when playing games.

After a couple of years, I started playing soccer a lot, and wearing glasses during games was tricky. They sometimes slipped or got in the way, which wasn’t good when I needed to focus on kicking the ball! So, my parents and I talked to the Optometrist again. They told us about these special lenses called Ortho-K. I thought they sounded cool because you wear them at night, and they help you see better during the day without glasses.

The Optometrist measured my eyes and gave me these special lenses. I had to wear them while I slept, and in the morning, I could see really well without anything on my face! It was strange at first, but it was awesome not having to worry about glasses during soccer. I kept using the special lenses, and they made playing soccer so much easier. I didn’t have to think about glasses falling off or getting in the way. My eyes got used to them, and I could see everything clearly during the day without anything on my face.I visited the Optometrist regularly to make sure everything was okay, and they helped me if anything needed adjusting. Now, I still wear my special lenses every night, and I can play soccer without any problems. It’s pretty cool how they help my eyes stay good even when I’m running around on the field! Now it’s four years later, and my eyes haven’t gotten worse at all, even though I’m still growing.
